If this brand new record from Yves Larock is anything to go by, then summer has well and truly arrived. Yves Larock has delivered ‘Don’t Turn Back’ on perfect time, second only to Swiss public transport, and is back once again for this summer’s Balearic madness!

This record marks a welcome return to the limelight for Larock who for the past few months has been in studio lockdown, crafting and finalizing Millia Records – an imprint conceived by Yves and fellow label co-coordinator DJ Tremendo. Although the core philosophy of Millia never holds any commercial expectations to its releases, we somehow feel assured that Yves fever is imminent once again!

The Original Club Mix manages to squeeze a Balearic drop into every frequency, a true credit to versatility of the Swiss maestro’s skill set. Take richly reverberated pads, coupled with a piano, some syncopated acoustic guitar strings/piano and listener is teleported immediately to that somewhat warmer white-isle horizon. On remix duties we have a box-fresh cut from Fehrplay & The Cruzaders who deliver an astonishingly glitchy tweeter workout that is destined to tear up even the most discerning of floors. Tony Sylla’s mix offers a different stepped take with a bass-line designed to melt any amount of ice in your tipple. The Hy2rogen & Fr3cky vs. Lex Da Funk mix adds a highly familiar tribal break while Nari & Milani serve up a twisted tribal-tech edit to boot. And finally, but by no means least, the TBass acoustic version delivers a reminiscent stadium masterpiece that is sure to sooth body and soul on the terraces the morning after.
